Wanna buy me something?

I wasn't able to get any crafting done today, but I was able to make an addition to this site. I skipped wisting and went to Kaboodle, which plays a little slide show on this site (look down and to the right) - these are items I've found online and must have. However, since I'm now on a "budget" I can't just go out and make all the purchases I typically would.

So, if anyone wants to buy me anything - you know where to look. I'm sure it will only grow! :-)

Thursday

Yes, I know - I suck as a blogger

Apologies all around - although I doubt anyone is still reading at this point. I've been trying to get in small moments of crafting and have only been mildly successful.

Recently I've made:

  • a sock monkey cloth book for Jacob

  • some cute iron-on onsies for Jacob

  • a small "quilt" for Jacob (although this has not been given yet)

  • I have a sock monkey cut out to put together (to match the book) for Jacob

Then there are these 2 - 2 VERY different projects.

The first is the result of a girl's night out at Ally's Beads. We had a beading party and as I looked at the walls of beads and realized that I had so many of these at home I decided to try and make something different.

The result:

I'm pretty happy with it and have worn it several times. It consists of these beautiful carved Celtic knots, sterling silver wire, and some green marbled beads. All capped off with a Saki silver clasp. Very different from anything I had.

Project #2 - The boob pillow

My baby sister found a lump in her breast last month. Although the doctor assured us it was benign she felt more comfortable having it removed. Today the lump came out and was confirmed as benign. Remembering something I saw on http://www.craftster.org/ I threw this together this morning. I gave it to her in the recovery room and she was very embarrassed. Everyone else (including the nurses) laughed their butts off.

You can't see it in this picture, but I "pierced" one of the nipples. There's a small silver loop hanging out of it. Some might point out that the nipples aren't even, but anyone with a naturally well endowed chest knows they never point in the same direction anyway.

I've been asked to make some items for a fundraiser auction. The last time I did that no one bid on my jewelry, but I'm hoping this time is more positive. I need to get working on that and my Opening Day paraphernalia. Updates to come . . .
